    The historic Lincoln Theatre, built in 1926 and hailed for its beauty, serves as an important regional performing arts venue and cultural cornerstone of downtown Mount Vernon.     Friendship House reflects the heart of God by feeding, sheltering, clothing and healing…to empower those in need. We provide two emergency homeless shelters, two transitional houses, a daily hot meal service, and a job training program. We believe in helping people transform their lives!

  • STUDENTS AT THE HEART

    To support lifelong literacy and cultural diversity through the writing, reading, performing, and teaching of poetry in Northwest Washington schools and communities. Each year more than 10,000 local students experience playing with words while reading and writing poetry one-on-one with resident poets. These poets model instructional strategies to teachers and prepare a bank of poetry lessons for our website.
